It’s only a month away. It’s basically a holiday for motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere. It’s wild and fun. It’s Sturgis.
The 76th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will be held on August 8-14th. GothRider Magazine is here to give you all the need to know information. This week, we are providing you with an overview of the rally.
Sturgis is located in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Although it’s based in the town of Sturgis, the celebrations stretch over 100 miles. The center of the rally provides easy riding access to many great scenic motorcycle rides including Mount Rushmore and Badlands National Park.
The world-famous motorcycle rally started in 1938 with only a couple dozen bikers. Now it has grown to be on of the largest gathering of bikers in the world. The 60th annual event boasted 600,000 attendees.
With group rides, races, poker runs, concerts, and more, Sturgis has something for everyone. The Harley-Davidson Rally Point is the main concert venue. The headliners this year are Chris Duarte, Randy McAllister, and 35th and Taylor.
Various other Sturgis venues also feature big-name stars. Check out Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Miranda Lambert. Check out the full concert list here.
Aside from concerts and rides, the rally offers tons of other events. There are beauty pageants, a bikini bike wash, and more.
Don’t miss the memorial service for fallen veterans. The American Veteran Traveling Tribute, which includes a perfect replica of the Vietnam Wall Memorial, will be there. Pay your respects to your fallen friends and others. The Traveling Wall is a sobering experience.
