So you took the plunge and followed some of our bar basics guidance and set up your own home bar! Or maybe you’ve always had a bar but are preparing to do some entertaining and you want to offer more than just beer.
But maybe you’re a little concerned that the bikers invited to your pad will turn up their noses at what they might consider a bunch of sissy-like cocktails. Fear no more! We’re sharing a few badass recipes that might make even the toughest biker hesitate before that first sip.
1. The Ankle Twister
There’s nothing wimpy about a drink that threatens to twist an ankle if you have one too many.
- 2 oz. Rum
- 1 oz. Cherry Brandy
- 1 oz. lime juice
After combining the ingredients, shake well and strain into a chilled glass.
2. The Walker
All this time we thought they were yelling “run” from a zombie, while they were just calling out for “rum”. There’s a plethora of rum in this drink, mix them all, or just choose your favorite for the brew.
- 2 oz. Dark Rum
- 1 oz. Triple Sec
- 2 oz. Light Rum
- 1 oz. 151-proof Rum
- 1 oz. lime juice
- 1 oz. orange juice
- 1 oz. pineapple juice
- 1 tbsp. Grenadine
- Optional: 1 Tbsp. Almond syrup
Start by blending all the ingredients and serve in a chilled glass. Furthermore, you can toss in
an eyeball a pineapple chunk to fancy it up a bit if you like.
3. The Bloody Mess
If you just can’t stay away from beer, here’s one that we’re tossing some into the mix.
- 2 oz. Vodka
- 3 oz. Beer
- 4 oz. Tomato Juice
Combine the ingredients, salt to taste, and garnish with a pickle.
4. The Raptor
- 2 oz. Whiskey
- ½ oz. Lemon Juice
- 1 egg white
- 1 tsp. sugar syrup
Throw it all together with cracked ice in a shaker, pour into a badass glass—because if you want an egg white in your brew, you’re obviously pretty fierce already.
When you love your tequila but want to look sophisticated sipping your cocktail you throw in some tonic. If anyone dares to laugh at the name of your drink, or if you accidently extend your pinky finger while sipping, then make them do a tequila shot straight up—with no training wheels. In addition, tell them that salt and lime is for whimps.
- 2 oz. Silver Tequila
- 1 ½ oz. Lime Juice
- Lime wedge
First of all, pour tequila over ice cubes, add juice and stir. Then add tonic water and garnish with lime.
